February-April 2012 in Lancaster County

January 26, 2012

Hello!  It is that time of year....MUD SALE TIME!  If you have not been to one, they are just about every weekend from late February until Mid April and are unique to Lancaster. Starting on Feb. 28, is the Stasburg Mud sale, March 3 & 17 in Quarryville, and the big one, on March 10 in Gordonville wich is close to us. Then on March 24 there is the Gap Sale, and more after that!. If you don't know what they are, they are big consignment auctions to beefit the local fire companies. A lot of Amish donate, hand crafted furniture, Buggies, Quilts, ect. plus many others..and the food!!!!! Well, that's what I go for! The majority of the auctions are outdoors in large fields...so you must wear old shoes or boots...hence the name...mud sale.

Also Coming up on March 14-17 is the Quilt Sow at the Lancaster Host...just down the street...a great event!

Also:

A Brand New Show at the Sigh & Sound Theatre!..."Jonah"!

Nearby Longwood Gardens has their Easter Flower displaywill be starting in March

A Taste Of Lancaster on April 15, at the Convention Center, has tastings of local food, an auction, and raffle to benefit the Central PA Food Bank.

Plus all the usual fun things to do and of course, shopping. And it is finally going to get warmer!!!

  1. A good mud sale is hard to resist. It is always great to come across some really cool things, and most especially have the proceeds go to a great community effort such as fire companies. Good information, I came across your blog through your website, and I'll be sure to follow to read your upcoming blogs. My name is Marc, and aside from my love of travel and mud sales, I also work for Bescover — where we love all things B&B! It’s truly a privilege being a part of your online community.
